jesus must be turning in his grave. just proves what we all know---the watchtower is in it for the money.
when i drive by the kingdom hall i grew up attending at but, was sold directly to a church, i get angry.
the elders who handled the sale didn't even remove the watchtower shaped bricks on each side of the sign near the street so, now they advertise for a baptist church.
how many times as i grew up i heard things like: you should not do work ( such as clean carpets for a church) you wouldn't want to work at a cigarette making plant or a facility that makes bombs for the military.

i've never thought about it before, but isn't it some sort of blasphemy and extremism to use a god's name in the official name of your religion?.
g..
i sat in recently with some relatives for the sunday meeting.
the talk was given by a bethel speaker, who at one point quoted john 20:25.
“but he said to them: “unless i see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, i will never believe it.”.
JC was dying on the cross stake.
he calls out to Peter
"Peter--come unto me"
"yes Lord" replies Peter--and fights his way past the Roman guards to get to Jesus...who gasps:
"Peter..Peter..'
"yes Lord"
"Peter.....i can see your house from up here "
look at the new york post online today and watch the videos of mayhem and destruction to the city with fires all over manhattan.
the police vehicles are being destroyed and torched and the rioting just goes on and on.. i regularly went to nyc sometimes once a month for years.
now, who on earth would want to go to this hellhole??.
in the UK we had all the riots in Lozells Birmingham....but that was 35 years ago.
a young man in somerset in england, under massive pressure from financial and relationship issues lapsed into mental illness.
he was unlucky enough to have as his support system the local congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
one of the symptoms of his illness was the use of tobacco.
it is very difficult--long winded and expensive to " import" a "foreign" spouse into the UK.
i'm in the process--and we are now 4 years in to the 5 years settlement route, which will have cost me about 10,000 pounds overall. there are conditions to meet--including a minimum income or other financial means. like many other Brits--i knew nothing of all this when we first met and started a relationship.
i was wondering two things, 1: how long in total are the zoom meetings, i presume the sunday one is the longest ?.
and 2: if you use zoom for free, the session only lasts 40 minutes, so do they have an intermission so people can log back in, or are all jw's expected to pay for the "privilege" ?.
have this playing in the background--but not too quietly.
i don't have the hanging down parts to do it (and my wife would probably divorce me), but i just got my beevis and butthead shirts from walmart.
i bought two with beevis doing his alter ego thing as cornholio.
she told me not to even wear them outside of the house.. https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=cornholio.
get a tee shirt printed especially for these zoomers...like--"far queue"

so they smash up and burn their own neighbourhood. then tomorrow moan about all the wreckage and empty shops.

hmm
zoom meetings. no more kh. no more door knocking.
getting more attractive all the while.
maybe time i got my everlasting life card stamped.
i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.
Anyone heard of Ron Drage or Ron Rage at London Bethel?
it was listening to Ron Drage --district servant--in my mid teens 1964 made me give up my job to go pioneering. its been downhill all the way since.
His name crops up on here from time to time. Last mention of him he was seriously ill, so i dont know if he's still alive.
